This Friday morning, June 17, on The Jazz Messenger program, trumpeter/composer John D'earth will be stopping by the studios of WTJU to visit Brian Keena to speak about his upcoming world premier of D'earth's original work Ephemera, to be performed that evening by members and alumni of the Youth Orchestra at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville.

D'earth was commissioned to write an original work for public performance.

Ephemera will have four movements and will include poems sung by Ms. Veronica Swift O'Brien.

Young musicians from the Charlottesville area as well as Central Virginia will join Youth Orchestra alumni and other musicians from across the region to perform the piece.

Proceeds from the performance will benefit the Orchestra, and will help the organization to continue in its mission to provide superior quality performances and experiences for our are youth.
