The Eclectic Jazz Experience performs live on Living Time

The Eclectic Jazz Experience performs live on Living Time

Wednesday December 19th

The Eclectic Jazz Experience, or The EJE, began as a band of high school students from Richmond, VA. Beginning in high-level music classes at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School, these talented musicians have come together and taken their love for music and performing to the next level. The EJE plays jazz fusion, funk, and instrumental rock with a 7 piece band. The great diversity of instrumentation (and the backgrounds of those who play) lend themselves to thrilling and truly energizing live performances. The EJE released its debut album in 2011, entitled “Leave It At That,” on Green Dragon Records.

Colin Greatwood - Trumpet
Tyler Hutcherson - Trumpet
Miles Greatwood - Tenor Saxophone
Michael Viray - Guitar
Tim Swartz - Bass Guitar
Steven Gizzi - Keyboards
Jonathan Kim - Drums

The band members will play live in the WTJU studio beginning about 8:30 pm, and will talk about their musical education and goals.
