LIVE Concert Broadcast

Brittany Haas, Cleek Schrey, Jordan Tice and Nic Gareiss, known collectively as 4tet, will stop by Sunset Road for a visit with host Pete Marshall.  Later that evening they will be performing at Random Row in the midst of an eleven day tour throughout the Northeast and Mid Atlantic.  WTJU will be broadcasting the first hour of the concert starting at 8 pm (est).

Creating new traditional music for five- and ten-string fiddle, guitar, pump organ, piano, and percussive dance, 4tet comprises four of traditional music’s most compelling young talents. Fiddler Brittany Haas of the seminal folk-bluegrass band Crooked Still has teamed up with fiddler Cleek Schrey, guitarist Jordan Tice and innovative percussive dancer Nic Gareiss. All share an interest in performing traditional music, exploring new compositions, and simultaneously maintaining and critiquing the conventions surrounding folk music today. Following the work of mentors Bruce Molsky, Brendan Mulvihill, Darol Anger, Eileen Carson-Schatz, and others, 4tet continues the legacy and lineage of traditional music while probing the creative potential of fiddle tunes, traditional song, and percussive dance.
