Coming Saturday July 20th at Fellini's #9 Restaurant downtown, it's "Four for George," the 4th annual fundraiser for the George Melvin Education Fund, beginning at 4 p.m. and running all night until 1 a.m., with a live broadcast on WTJU at 9 p.m.

Each year the Charlottesville Jazz Society honors the late Hammond B3 organ player and beloved teacher George Melvin by hosting this event, which provides needy jazz students with tuition for private lessons, instruments, master classes and more. This year's event features area music teachers performing with their students in quartet settings, followed by some great local keyboard players and their quartets. Teachers playing include John D'earth and Gina Sobel. Keyboard players include Doug Wannamaker and Christopher Redd.

All proceeds go to the George Melvin Education Fund. Donations may also be made online at

Fellini's is located at
200 W. Market St. in downtown Charlottesville.

But if you can't make it in person, tune in to The Groove Tube on WTJU at 9 p.m. that night for a special live broadcast!
