The experimental jazz fusion sounds of the Dane Alderson Trio will envelop the WTJU studios this Tuesday night, December 3, when they slip into Loose Threads for some live music and conversation.  You can catch them in residency each Monday night at Rapture Restaurant on the Charlottesville downtown mall,  The trio is made up of Michael Taylor, drums; Mark Miller, guitar; and band leader Dane Alderson on bass.

After several musical collaborations in the later months of 2012, Dane Alderson, Michael Taylor, and Mark Miller began to realize a compatibility that included an eclectic combination of musical tastes, along with the ability to fuse their talents into what many have called a mind blowing experience.  By Summer of 2013, they were jamming weekly at local venues under the name The Dane Alderson Trio.  The trio’s Monday night residency at Rapture on Charlottesville’s downtown mall has attracted a consistent fan base drawing audience members from all over the country and providing them with a unique combination of original compositions, while also paying homage to musical legends and bands such as Jaco Pastorius, Steely Dan, Wayne Krantz, Led Zeppelin, and Mike Stern.    Dane Alderson’s astounding bass solos, Mark Miller’s unhinged shredding on guitar, and Michael Taylor’s intense chops and tight grooves are just a few of the variables which make The Dane Alderson Trio such a main attraction.
