FESTIVAL OF CULTURES
Artists on World Turning
Friday, May 8, 2015
1 pm (edt)
A few artists who will be performing at this Saturday’s Festival of Cultures (sponsored by WTJU!) will stop by the WTJU studios this Friday afternoon during the second hour of World Turning. You can listen at 91.1 FM around Charlottesville, 102.9 FM in the Richmond area, and streaming everywhere at wtju.net.
Come and celebrate the cultural and linguistic diversity of our local community. The Twelfth Annual Festival of Cultures will be a day of free family-friendly fun with all-day entertainment: music, dance, song, and storytelling. Enjoy hands-on cultural crafts activities, visit cultural exhibits, food, and artisan vendors. The Festival is a gathering place where all can meet, share in, and learn about each others’ cultures. Here you can take a passport and “travel the world in Lee Park”. The Festival is organized by the Charlottesville City Schools Adult Learning Center with the involvement and support of many other individuals and organizations and provides an opportunity for building bridges of communication between new Americans and established residents. The Festival is in Lee Park on Market Street next to Main Branch of the Library in downtown Charlottesville. This event is FREE and open to the public.
