Loaves & Fishes needs volunteers to feed the needy

Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, a non-profit that gives groceries to over 1,200 low-income families per month, is in need of volunteers to assist with bagging groceries and distributing food.  No experience is necessary.  Join in the mission of Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors and help the less fortunate in our community.  To volunteer or for more information, email volunteers@cvilleloavesandfishes.org or call 434-996-7868.

The Kluge-Ruhe Collection presents Gurari – Saltwater Drinker

The Kluge-Ruhe Collection presents Gurari – Saltwater Drinker, an exhibition of works by Melbourne-based artist Ricardo Idagi, the Collection’s third resident artist. The exhibition, which runs through December 21st, brings together nine of Idagi’s sculptural works that serve as visual memoirs of Mer (Murray Island), his home in the Torres Strait. Made with a variety of materials, from raffia and feathers to beer cans and wrought iron, the works comment on political and social issues facing Torres Strait Islanders today…

Meals on Wheels needs drivers! Drivers typically drive one route a week at lunch time, delivering meals to neighbors in need. Clients look forward to receiving a hot meal and seeing a smiling face each day! This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, businesses or organizations. See a good show for a good cause. It’s Twelfth Night, William Shakespeare’s comedy of mixed-up lovers and crossed garters. Ticket proceeds help to support local charities and nonprofits, including the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, the Building Goodness Foundation, the SPCA and more.
