UVA history professor Brian Balogh will interview author Ed Falco about his novel Toughs and the questions that arise when writing a novel based on historical events. It’s entitled History as Fiction, Fiction as History: A Literary Salon and it’s at WriterHouse on Friday, November 14th, at 7 p.m. Is the author required to present an accurate picture of the historical character and to events as they transpired, or is it okay to manipulate them to the purposes of the novel? Free and open to the public. WriterHouse is at 508 Dale Avenue, Charlottesville. For more information, visit writerhouse.org or call 434-296-1922 or send e-mail to email@example.com.
