Interview with Dr. Jean Montes on Gamut

Interview with Dr. Jean Montes
Conductor, Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra
Wednesday October 25, 2006

Tune in to Gamut on Wednesday morning, October 25, around 8 am. Ralph Graves will interview Dr. Jean Montes, the new conductor of the Waynesboro Symphony orchestra. Dr. Montes, a member of the music faculty at VCU in Richmond, assumed the role of conductor of the orchestra in September. The occasion for this interview is that two concerts will be given, one in Staunton on Thursday evening, October 26, and one in Waynesboro on Sunday afternoon, October 29. Dr. Montes will describe the very exciting program for these concerts and possibly play a recording of one of the pieces on the program. In the interview Ralph will doubtless ask him about the orchestra in general. Until last spring this orchestra was known as the Waynesboro Community Orchestra and was conducted by Eric Stassen.
